OUR PARTNERS ARE SEEING RESULTS
Success Story: National Domestic Workers-PA Chapter & Philly Black Worker Project Win The Power Act!
Since the founding of both the NDWA-PA Chapter and the Philly Black Worker Project, The Organizing Center has walked side-by-side with both organizations. From E.D. coaching to organizer training to member leadership development, we supported both organizations to:
-
Grow their membership. NDWA-PA, in particular, grew from dozens to multi-hundreds in just a few years

-
Develop campaign strategy. With our guidance, both organizations developed a sharp analysis of conditions and a pathway to victory.
-
Let members lead. Both organizations created strong leadership- development pathways, ensuring members were the ones meeting with elected officials, testifying before City Council, and developing the actions that galvanzied more participation.
The POWER Act is a groundbreaking law that sets a precedent for how cities can step in where federal labor protections have fallen short. At a time when workers across the country—particularly low-wage Black workers, immigrant workers, domestic workers, restaurant and service workers, and other low-wage laborers—face rollbacks in rights and limited paths to justice, Philadelphia is leading the way.
IMPACT ACROSS THE MOVEMENT ECOSYSTEM
Organizers are coming to us from across the country and beyond. Urban, suburban, rural. Black, Brown, Asian, immigrant. Poor and working class. Women and gender-expansive people. We've worked with organizers in 27 states (and counting!) and others across the globe.
We're excited to welcome organizers with a range of experiences to our workshops and programs.

We work with organizations tackling systemic issues across a number of sectors.
